About Me

Hello
Welcome!
I’m Youssra, a counsellor, educator, and consultant with a background in psychology, sociology, education, and counselling psychology.
I have a particular interest in ADHD and neurodivergence, and in supporting individuals and families as they navigate parenting, relationships, identity, emotional regulation, and the demands of everyday life.
My approach is warm, collaborative, practical, and grounded in the belief that people do best when they feel understood rather than judged.
My Story
I have spent over 25 years working with children, families, and educators across teaching, educational consulting, leadership, and community-based roles, and I continue to work in education today. With academic backgrounds in psychology, sociology, education, and counselling psychology, I bring both a clinical and systems-level understanding to my work.
My experience has given me a strong understanding of school systems, learning differences, family-school relationships, and the pressures experienced by parents, children, and educators. It has also allowed me to work alongside families from a wide range of cultural, social, and lived experiences.
Over time, I became increasingly drawn to the experiences of people with ADHD and other forms of neurodivergence, particularly the ways neurodivergence can shape family life, parenting, relationships, self-understanding, and the feeling of constantly trying to keep up with expectations. I bring that lens into counselling alongside my professional experience and clinical training.
I’m especially drawn to working with adults with ADHD, neurodivergent parents, parents raising neurodivergent children, and educators.
My goal is work alongside you to make sense of what feels overwhelming, understand youreself with greater clarity and compassion, and develop practical strategies that make everyday life, relationships, parenting, and work feel more manageable.
When we understand ourselves better, we can begin to live better.
